What to include

Please include the page URL, village name, district and state, the information that appears wrong, the correct information and a reliable source or proof if available.

What can be reviewed

You may report possible issues in village name, Census village code, state, district, local administrative unit, population, households, area, facility fields, nearest-town details, postal context, bank service context, map context or broken links.

Reliable sources

Useful sources may include official Census records, District Census Handbook records, official state or district websites, India Post references, official bank or RBI-sourced records, or other reliable public records.

Review process

Sending a correction request does not guarantee that a page will be changed. We may need a reliable source before updating village names, codes, population, area, facilities, postal details or administrative references.

What may not be changed

We may not change a value if the request is incomplete, unsupported, based only on personal memory, conflicts with the available source data, asks for legal interpretation or requires an official government update.

No official record update

A correction on Vill does not update any government, Census, land, revenue, postal, banking or administrative record. It only changes the informational presentation on this website.

Privacy of requests

Please do not send Aadhaar numbers, identity documents, bank details or sensitive personal information in a correction request. Send only the details needed to identify the page and the reported issue.
